How to use Booth check
Booth check looks at photos of your booth and tells you what to change so more shoppers stop and buy.
1. Open Booth check
In the phone app, open the Menu and tap Booth check. On the website, it is under Markets, then Booth check. You can also open a market and tap Check my booth.
2. Take up to four photos
Stand in the aisle where shoppers walk up. The best set is the whole booth from about 10 feet back, the table straight on, a close-up of your signs and prices, and your checkout area if you have one. In the app, take new photos or pick several from your library at once; tap a photo to remove it. On the website, choose up to four photos from your computer.
3. Add the details (optional)
Pick the market you are setting up for, so the check can use how that market went last time and compare against your last check there. Under "Anything it should look at?", say what is bothering you, like "people walk past without stopping".
4. Tap Check my booth
It takes about half a minute. Stay on the screen until your report appears.
5. Read your report
You get an overall score out of 5, a short summary, the three fixes worth making first, one thing your booth already does well, and a score for each of eight areas.
6. Check again after you make changes
Set up the fixes, take new photos and run another check at the same market. Each score shows whether it went up or down since last time.
What's in your report
- Overall score out of 5, with a two-sentence summary.
- Fix these first: three changes, easiest and most useful first. Each says why it matters and how much work it is: Quick, Some effort or Bigger job.
- Working well: one thing your booth already does right. Keep it.
- Scores: each of the eight areas below, rated 1 to 5, with a note on what it sees in your photos.
The eight areas
- Seen from 10 feet
- Can a shopper tell what you sell from down the aisle?
- Prices are clear
- Can they see what things cost without asking?
- Height and levels
- Is anything at eye level, or is it all flat on the table?
- Full, not cluttered
- Does it look stocked without looking crowded?
- Says what you sell
- Do your sign and display say what kind of shop this is?
- Open and inviting
- Is it easy to step in, or is the table a wall?
- Light and color
- Do your products show up, or fade into the tablecloth?
- Easy to pay
- Is it obvious where to pay and that you take cards?
If something isn't in your photos, like a checkout that's out of frame, the report says so instead of guessing.
Good to know
- Your first booth check is free. Unlimited checks come with the full version of Mind the Booth ($29.99, one time, no monthly bill). Get it under Your plan. See pricing.
- You need signal. Your photos are sent off to be looked at. If a check fails because you're offline, the app keeps your photos on the screen so you can try again.
- Past checks are listed under the form. On the website you can open one and delete it, and its photos are deleted with it.
- Ask the assistant "What did my last booth check say?" and it answers from your saved checks.
- It looks at your booth and your products, never at the people in the photos.
